This review update (original version published 7 July 2020) examines how accurate diagnosis of COVID‐19 is, based on symptoms and signs from medical examination. The review authors were interested in people with suspected COVID‐19, who go to their doctor, outpatient test centres, or hospital.

This is the fourth version of this review. The authors of this review wanted to know whether chest imaging is accurate enough to diagnose COVID‐19 in people with suspected infection. They also wanted to assess the accuracy of chest imaging for screening asymptomatic people. The evidence is up to date to 17 February 2021.
